In the spur of the moment, my friends and I got in a Jeep and drove two hours to Palo Duro Canyon. It was so worth it. The Lighthouse Hike was on a beautiful day and the scenery was even better. We started walking not caring to check how long the distance was or even if we had water. Which we did not. Nevertheless we tracked on and saw the best of Texas's underrated hidden treasure. The history of this canyon was told up close and I wish I truly understood what each colour and mark means. It goes to show that being spontaneous will never fail. Even if you leave dehydrated...
